Getting Started

Onboarding Checklist

4 min read

1. Download the app

Free on iOS and Android. We recommend iOS -- TablelistPro is built and optimized for it.

Download on the App Store • Download on Google Play

2. Order hardware

Here's what we suggest. Give each staff member their own device so nobody's sharing mid-shift.

3. Build your floor plan

Got table reservations? Create your layout in TablelistPro -- upload a floorplan image, place tables and sections, then publish when you're ready. You can update it anytime.

Open the sidebar, click Settings, then Floorplans. Full walkthrough: Floorplans

Want the live view? Tap Venue Map in the app or click Map on the reservations page.

4. Fill out your settings

Do this before you start selling. Fill out every field -- the more complete your setup, the smoother things run.

Go to: sidebar -> Settings -> Details, Branding, Reservations, Inventory & pricing, Checkout & marketing, and related pages

What to fill in: venue info, branding, logo, primary color, venue photos, reservation settings, inventory settings, checkout settings, chit receipts.

Here's an example Reservation Note -- the more detail, the better:

Thank you for booking with us! Here are a few details about your reservation.

Check-In: The party host must check in by 12am or the reservation may be released without refund. The credit card used at purchase must be presented with a matching valid photo ID at the door. No outside food or beverages permitted.

Beverage Minimums: Your reservation includes a beverage minimum based on date and time -- this is the total you'll spend before 8% tax and 20% gratuity.

Cancellations: All sales are final. Refunds are only issued if cancelled within 24 hours. Processing fees are non-refundable.

Venue Policies: Venue reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel, or modify reservations at its discretion. Guests must be 21+ with valid ID and adhere to the dress code.

Questions? Email [Name] at [email] or call [phone].

Here's an example of Terms & Conditions:

All sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or cancellations. Processing fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. The credit card used at purchase must be presented with matching valid photo ID at entry. All guests must arrive together -- no separate check-ins. All guests must be 21+ with valid ID. Guests must adhere to the dress code. Management reserves all rights.

5. Add your team

Accounts are unlimited. Every staff member and promoter gets their own login -- no sharing.

Sidebar -> Settings -> Team -> Staff

  • Hit the purple + and fill in their name, email, and phone
  • Permissions tab -- set access per venue if you run multiple locations
  • Notifications tab -- pick email, text, and push preferences

Hit Save -- they'll get an email to set their password. If it expires, they can reset it here

  • Repeat under SettingsTeamPromoters for promoters

More on adding staff, setting permissions, and setting up notifications.

6. Set up inventory and events

Create inventory yourself from Inventory -- VIP packages, tickets, and private inventory.

Events are separate from inventory, so you can create those anytime.

7. Embed your booking widget

Drop a widget on your site so guests can buy and reserve directly. Pick the one that fits your setup.

  • Inventory Map -- interactive map, guests pick their exact table or section
  • Inventory List -- same as above, no map
  • Reservation Request Form -- guests submit a request, you approve or deny it in Leads
  • Guest List Form -- guest list signups (tip: $0 tickets work better for most venues)
  • Event List / Calendar / Carousel / Grid -- show your upcoming events on your site

Events need to be public in TablelistPro before they'll show on any event widget.

All widgets + installation instructions

Share the widget guide with your web developer if someone else handles your site.

Most answers are already in the help docs -- check there first.
