TablelistPro supports crypto payments through Stripe. This guide covers what that means for your venue, how to turn it on, and what to expect.
The short version
Guests can pay you in stablecoins (digital dollars) at checkout. You still get paid in regular US dollars in your normal payout — you never have to touch or hold crypto. The processing fee is 1.5% per transaction, and these payments can't be charged back.
What guests actually experience
When a guest checks out, they'll see a Crypto option alongside cards. If they choose it, they:
- Get redirected to a secure Stripe crypto page.
- Connect their digital wallet (like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or Phantom).
- Pay using a stablecoin — most commonly USDC.
That's it. The payment converts to US dollars automatically and lands in your balance like any other sale.
What's a stablecoin? (plain English)
A stablecoin is a type of crypto designed to always be worth about one US dollar. So 1 USDC ≈ $1. Unlike Bitcoin, the value doesn't swing around, which is why Stripe uses it for payments. Guests can't pay you directly in Bitcoin or Ethereum — only in these dollar-pegged coins.
How to turn it on
How you enable crypto depends on how your venue is set up with TablelistPro.
- If you have your own Stripe login: Log into your Stripe Dashboard, go to Settings → Payment methods, and enable Stablecoin payments. Once it's on, the crypto option appears at checkout automatically.
- If you don't have a Stripe login (TablelistPro manages your account): Crypto is enabled on your managed Stripe account when stablecoin payments are turned on for that account. You can't switch this on from the Stripe Dashboard yourself.
What to expect
- Fees. A flat 1.5% per crypto transaction. There's no extra fixed fee. For comparison, this is usually cheaper than standard card processing, especially on larger tickets.
- No chargebacks. Once a guest pays, the payment can't be reversed through a dispute. This protects you from chargeback fraud — a real advantage over cards.
- Refunds. You can still refund a guest. The money goes back to them as stablecoins in their wallet, not to a card. As with card payments, the 1.5% processing fee isn't returned to you on a refund.
- Payout timing. Crypto sales settle into your regular Stripe balance and pay out on your normal TablelistPro schedule — no separate process.
Good to know / limits
- $10,000 maximum per single transaction.
- Available for US-based businesses right now. A few other regions are in early testing.
- Works for one-time bookings and standard checkouts.
- Hold-and-charge-later bookings aren't supported for crypto. If your booking flow authorizes a card first and charges later, that specific setup doesn't work with crypto payments yet — the guest pays in full at checkout instead.
